2013 Conference Agenda

More than 400 of you responded to our survey, and this year’s conference has been designed to cover the topics you board members, school leaders, and teachers asked us to cover.

We have reviewed proposals for break-out sessions from educational leaders across North Carolina and around the country. Breakout sessions  feature many state leaders in education discussing the future directions for N.C. as well as issues relating to finance, administration, instruction, marketing, legal, facilities, boards, teachers and principals.

Teachers, earn up to 2 CEU’s at the conference while choosing from among over 45 informative sessions by state and national leaders!

Register Today to reserve you place at this dynamic conference!  Network with your peers and see how others are solving the common problems and meeting the challenges we all face!

Back to Grammar

Dr. Daniel Coupland, Ph.D., Hillsdale College

In the latter half of the 20th Century, explicit instruction in English grammar was systematically squeezed out of the K-12 curriculum.  In the last few years, it has begun to find its way back into classrooms.  This presentation will address the historical role that grammar has played in education, and it will describe why it should once again be an important part of K-12 schooling.
