Wake Forest - The NC Alliance Board of Directors met on January 23rd at Franklin Academy in Wake Forest. The school was founded in 1998 and maintains more than 1800 applicants on a waiting list each year. Franklin Academy is considered one of the most sought after free public charter schools in NC and perhaps in the nation. The High School Headmaster, David Mahaley welcomed the Alliance Board and offered a tour of the wonderful facility.

Board at Franklin

It is the mission of the NC Alliance for Public Charter Schools to hold our monthly board meetings at schools across the state in order to tour and learn from the established schools and share that knowledge with our Charter family of schools. The academic goals set forth at Franklin Academy are rigorous and aimed at helping all children develop to their full potential. The motto of the school as noted on their website is, “This will lead to higher test scores, but test scores will not be the goal and we will not “teach the test.”

Please visit and learn more about how one of our premiere charter schools in the state is helping children become learners for life with a sense of responsibility and an encouragement of public service.

Thank you Franklin Academy for hosting the January, 2014 Board of Directors meeting for the NC Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
